CHAPTER 19: "GEOGRAPHY MATTERS..."
Foster would say geography would be any setting or any detail of a situation that pertains to the surroundings. In the Book "Of Mice and Men", George and Lennie consult many different locations along the way. Their main goal is to get to the land that George has been talking to Lennie about. First, George and Lennie are working on the plantation in California trying to make a living during the Great Depression. Second, after moving from there original work in Weed, California, they move to another place in California. Third, the ranch that George and Lennie are staying at know the Lennie is known for moving George out because of things he does. Eventually Lennie does harm to some things on the ranch and George is forced to leave again. The geography of this literature affects where and when Lennie and George are going to get that land. Eventually, that never happens.
