CHAPTER 27: "A TEST CASE"
In "The Garden Party", Katherine Mansfield tries to find the difference between social classes. The girl from the upper or higher class has almost no knowledge of people from the lower class.
How does it signify?
Katherine uses many connections to Japan. This supports the theme because of easily noticeable social classes of Japan. She uses the reference of how the higher class easily flys over the lower classes noticing that they are better than the others.
After reading the other responses to the book I think I did fairly well. The third student got the reference that the higher or more wealthy class flys or looks over the other classes, and I also had that. It was great how many connections there were
