CHAPTER 5: "HAVE I EVER SEEN HER BEFORE?"
Intertextuality is the idea that each literary work can not be independent, but instead grows off of other literary works. One example of this would be found in TV shows today including "Family Guy" and "American Dad". Family Guy was aired first on television, the producers saw that the show was doing well so they created a sub-show called "American Dad", involving the same producers, and the same plot in all of the episodes, just different characters and episodes. Another example of intertextuality is the movie "Grease" and the "High School Musical" series, both movies involve high school students singing and getting together which creates a bond between everybody in the high school.
